pirmasis užsieniniams šlageriams suteikė lietuvišką turinį, pirmasis lietuviškai kūrė šmaikščius monologus, anekdotus ir parodijas. „jo pasakojimo būdas, jo mimika, tiesiog veido deformacija, išmislingumas patraukė publiką",- rašė to meto spauda. 1929-1931 m. berlyno homocord ir londono columbia firmose dolskis įrašė 16 plokšteliy, kurios buvo ir iki šiol yra labai populiarias. mirė 1931 m. gruodį, palaidotas kauno žydy kopinėse. rūta skudiene, algirdas motieka ====================== danielius dolskis was not only a darling of the audience, but also a pioneer of the lithuanian pop music. this talented performer will always remain closely associated with the heartbeat of kaunas. he was born in 1891 in vilnius. the russian revolution interupted his singing at vila rode, a popular restaurant in st. petersburg, frequented by rasputin, the mad monk. dolskis toured the russian expanse and he was highly acclaimed by the audiences. after the russian revolution, he moved to riga and performed with the "king of tango", oskor strok band. in 1929 he settled in kaunas and sang at metropolis and versalis restaurants. his repertoire featured current popular melodies, refurbished with lithuanian lyrics authored by dolskis himself. his surprising talent for comedy augmented his image as a singer. altogether he recorded 16 albums for berlin’s homocord and london's columbia labels. he died in kaunas in 1931....
