BRC Orchestra Tribute to Black Women Songwriters 2010 (sampler)here, the sisters get their due...in nov 2010, the black rock coalition re-staged its tribute to black women songwriters. originally presented with willie mae rock camp for girls in 2006, musical director tamar-kali assembled the powerfully strong talents of 17 women to join in five performances across france: joi, lisala, angela johnson, lafrae sci, honey larochelle, kat dyson, toli nameless, ganessa james, wunmi, maeve royce, jenny hill, pam fleming, lauren sevian, doria roberts, narjess saad-ellaoiu, and honeychild coleman. thanks to the women who we honor through their songs (tina turner, grace jones, betty davis, nina simone, rosetta tharpe, nona hendryx, victoria spivey, chaka khan, poly styrene, etc, along with the women of the brc orchestra) and merci beaucoup to our hosts at chateauvallon....
